You might have some slight difficulty in convincing the Smithsonian to sell you the one-and-only 1849 double eagle, but maybe if you offered them 5x face value and some Domino's pizza coupons, and a hundred Chuck E. Cheese arcade tokens, who knows? ;)

The 100 arcade tokens would be pushing it! I could do 25 or so.

Gold has always been out of budget for me! I will share one of my more interesting (Imo) coins that many people do not have in their collections!

This is my oldest DATED coin. A gorgeous 1654 Counterstamped Spanish COB!

I have two gold coins. The first on I got, was given to me by my grandpa. He wants me to save it and if gold values ever go up he wants me to sell it........ But I say I would keep it never the less. My second gold coin that I own is a 1928 2 1/2 Gold Indian slabbed by PCI. I bought this coin at a local coin show off of my local coin dealer. I was very happy for it then and I am still happy about it today.

My first gold coin was actually a fake (at least I believe it is a fake). It is a Spanish gold poseta with a portrait of Alphonso II on the obverse. It is dated 1892. My father says he purchased it from some dealer at some coin show (he really can't remember.) Unfortunately, the World Book of Coins (via my own coin dealer) says there was no Alphonso gold poseta minted in Spain in 1892. There are no other references in the book. So I am not sure what to do with it. It is real gold so I could sell it for melt value. Right now, I will just hold onto it.

Post Entry - I do have a small gold coin, but I am in a panic at the moment because it is not where I thought it was. That's not an unusual thing at my age.
4,5,3 assuming I am not eligible for 1 and 2.

Great work, Noah. I'm really happy to see you doing the 7070. Your NM Seated quarter looks intriguingly like it might be a CircCam. I can't make out the date, but it looks like 1843 or 1845?

Where are you? Did you mean sceat instead of "scent"? That is intriguing, but I can't tell what it is. Looks early medieval European?

You and everyone else are indeed eligible for 1 or 2.

After one of the gold coins first goes to a non-gold coin owner, the drawings proceeds normally, so there's still one of them left for everyone else to be eligible for.

My first gold coin was 1856 $1 Indian Princess in a bezel on a gold necklace, passed down from my grandmother, but I think my favorite is my 2016 W Mercury gold dime.

I'm 15 and just started collecting around 2 years ago. I love silver coins and especially gold. I have been saving up, working a few night jobs, and helping around the house to get myself my first double eagle. It would be nice to own a lot of gold rather than high banking for it all day. Just like i said, i really want a gold coin. Never owned one. I'm so far at about 500 dollars toward my goal. So a nice gold coin could really help out.

    Prize choices 1-2-3-4-5
