That's a good one I hadn't heard before, which is surprising, since I live in a place where the original source quote is so prevalent (and, alas, soon to be all too appropriate).

Here's my newest friend. Egan. I rescued him from a Humane Society. He'd been there for a month. Full grown at 2 years, he's a runt compared to my first. He's only 32" at the shoulders. Wolf was a full meter - 39 1/2" at the shoulders and would look down into the kitchen sink as I did dishes. He could also lift me off the ground when I leaned over and threw my arms around his neck. I only weighed 155 lbs at the time.

And a coin to go with him. Thought a wolf coin would be appropriate.
It was my first ancient coin given to me by Victor Clark a year ago.

Here are some of my recent pictures from other threads, not a one of 'em coin-related:

Gascoigne Park, Saint Simons Island, Georgia.

One of my very favorite places.

Two pics shot from essentially the same camera position: the first looking west (over the Frederica River towards Brunswick on the mainland) and the second facing east (at the Gascoigne Bluff live oaks).

This was the site of an old antebellum plantation, and in addition to being a beautiful spot, it has yielded up some neat old coins and relics for me and other detectorists over the years.

The live oak timbers for the first ships of the US Navy, in particular the USS Constitution, were shipped from Gascoigne bluff and harvested from the island. "Old Ironsides" wasn't iron at all- her toughness came from St. Simons Island oak.

Ladymarcovan and I had our wedding reception under these oaks in October 1999.

Josie and Gilligan, two of our 11 (yes, eleven!) cats, basking in backyard clover.

(Our current critter count at "Shinnicks' Funny Farm" consists of 11 cats, 2 dogs, and a guinea pig. Plus plenty of other unwelcome wildlife like roaches and palmetto bugs.)

Daughter Victoria in DC during her recent school band trip. They went up there to march in the Cherry Blossom parade.

At Arlington. You ask me, I'd say she's channeling Audrey Hepburn here.

Back home, with Flash the Cat, modeling the hot new "living scarf" trend.

(Flash is awesome- he's handsome, super-mellow as you can see, and a family favorite. He can get underfoot around the refrigerator, though. Has quite a fridge fetish. Likes to get in the shower with you, too. I guess that's a Maine Coon trait. We think he's full or part Maine Coon.)
