Large Cent... which one?

These 2o coins are from different online dealers. And I would like your opinion before I make a decision.

The 1848 is $150 and the 1851 is $129

Between the two of those, I'd get the 1851. The details look a bit sharper, and the 1848 seems to have a few rim dings.

Shatsi, I think the 1848 may have had a rough cleaning in the past.

 

Dealer grades are 1851-AU58 and 1848 AU50. I myself likes the 1851 for the color and eye appeal. But the 1848 seems to have more detail don't u think? Specially if you look at the curles on the neck.

 

I would go with the 1851---I don't like the color of the 48...looks like there might have been some PVC and a cleaning....while there is a tad more detail I wouldn't buy it.

That 1848 looked familiar - I have bought a few coins from Berk and company. I am suprise it is not marked as cleaned - at least that is what it looks like to me. The 1851 was the correct choice - do you mind me asking which online dealer it was purchased from? Always looking to add another link into my favorites(even though I have only bought from 2/3 dealers).

 

The 1848 is from HJB and the 1851 is from www.jjteaparty.com

I've bought from both dealers before. But mostly from HJB.

 

Thank you - I have bought a 4/5 coins from HJB also. I will check out what all they have. I like dealers that post pictures of the coins, makes it easier to see how they grade.
