I thought it's illegal to temper with the federal government's property, in this case a coin. Isn't that true in the US as well?

It is illegal if your doing it for deseption or gain.

Isn't that what they are doing? They are selling these as magician coins for a profit, (presumably) made from real coins. Where is this thread?

 

No they aren't....they sell it as a "fake" but if you take it and try to spend it YOU will be the one in jail!

on topic: i think you might have seriously come across a junk law. i dont think you can get incarcerated for a fraud coin so long as its not for deception.

 

On cable the mint show how coins were made and tested i also have a two head coin 1992 quarter it's a fake seen how the man made it on a show he did a great job if you look at the inside rim on both sides of cion you can see and one side could have light cirle like a record . I liked that article on how they are made. I've got a few of them. A freind of mine has the quarter one but won't sell it to me. Actually I've used my 2 headed Nickel to commit a crime. At work many times we flip for who buys coffee. I usually offer to supply the coin and call heads. Think the coffee police will come get me?
For real those dumb things are going up in cost. Now a two heaaded nickel goes for about $10. Got mine for $2 and it paid for itself many times over.
