Just tried to put an image in the showcase. The software says that there is no limit on the file size, but that isn't true. I had a very large image I was trying to upload... a .jpg of around 42MB, but that stopped uploading around 20% and gave me an error. I resized the photo to 25% of the original dimensions, and cut the file size down to around 2.6MB and that uploaded fine. The file I uploaded is around 1800x2700 pixels in size, but the forum software seems to resize that down further to fit the screen without any way to increase the size to the full image... that results in the text on my image being pretty much unreadable. Not sure if there's a fix or another way to do it.
@illini420 you overloaded the server, that's why it gave you an error. The limit isn't with the showcase software it's a limit of how much the server can handle.
I've sent a message to the developer of the showcase about the alerts showing up even when you've disabled them bug.
Peter, FWIW, I think the problem is probably that the Showcase and/or Gallery treat a poster to either the same as if you post to a regular thread. I haven't posted to either and I see no alerts. The default for posting to threads is that you want to watch the thread. I suspect there is a little more code that needs to be developed...
Just in case anyone was curious, the gallery got a bug that was preventing people from starting new threads and I'm working on it. Being July 4th weekend, though, I might not be able to get it done till next week at the earliest.
what the heck happened to the gallery? it's all different now. I see that we can rate people's albums and all that now.
I don't know if coingeek12 ever had anything in the Gallery, or not. But when I searched the Gallery yesterday, he did not have anything there then.
