What is the general consensus of '71,'72 etc.. Eisenhower uncirculated 40% coins. The ones in the package with the blue coin. I have had mine since new.

I also have some proof Bicentennials. Any opinions on these? Be honest, please!

    Personally, I hate them.

    Honest enough?

Also, most are worth less than they originally cost.

You'll never really find a general consensus on anything, everyone has different tastes and different interests. I like them, but I like Ikes. Other people hate them who don't like Ikes. There is no right or wrong answer on what you should like

My motive is not so much like...but rather, are people interested in them?

    Perfectly honest answer. Thanks.

As far as original cost, Mom bought them for me when I was a kid. It only hurt my inheritance 37 years later! Back in '71, rather than the Ike's, she should have bought Skippy peanut butter rather than house brand. Would have been happier in the long run! haha

There is a market for them yes. While they aren't the most popular series of all time they certainly aren't the least popular. In my opinion they're one of the more popular modern series. Nice Ikes generally sell fairly quickly

Its tough. The 71s can be good but it needs to be a high grade like a 67 to be worth anything. Their are some good verities with that year to look out for. If you have time check out the Ike Group web page it has some good info on them.

Most people do not like Ike's a few of us do. I by no means am a fanatic about them, but do like them and am trying to put together a high grade set of them.

Be sure to check the Red Book for all of those.

I like them! I sold a complete Dansco of proof and business strikes for a nice profit, and I still have some of the Brown Ikes around somewhere.

I like 'em, but they tend to haze over in OGP......something I don't like.

I really like Ikes. What you should do, if you have the inclination, is to go over to the Ike group and start checking that out. You may find you have something more valuable than one would think. (I don't know since I haven't seen the coins). But this is a very interesting endeavor, understanding the market for Ikes. If you don't have the inclination, perhaps you would want to check with 19Lyds, above because he is pretty good at this and he would at least give you a fair idea if anything is of value, I would think. I am just 'beginning' on this so I don't have a great idea of value. There are others on here who kind of specialize with these, too.

I don't get it either, it is by far my favorite modern design. Hell I even like SBAs because of the reverse

Heck, I'm probably the only guy here who thinks she's a 'babe'...........despite her temperance attitude.

I like them. I have a good size collection going. Same thing with the SBA's

Her picture isn't the most flattering but shes no uglier than the line backer on a Morgan. SBAs really do unfairly get a bad rap

I am looking at one of those hazed over71-6 Silver proof in a nice lttltn pack just like some of the OGPs.

I have been wondering if acetone will help it?
