    Hi gang,

I have these three coins that I think are Japanese. I'm hoping someone can tell me first of all if they are in fact Japanese, and then what year and denomination they are. Thanks in advance.

The 10 sen coins come in different thicknesses and weight.

    Y #61 1.5g, 1.8mm (common)
    Y #61a 1.2g, 1.6mm (common)
    Y #61a 1.1g, 1.4mm (less common)
    Y #61b 1.0g, 1.3mm (common)

Thanks for the info, but I'm not equipped for that level of close analysis.

It doesn't cost much. I bought a caliper for $5 and a scale for $11 at Harbor Freight in Long Beach, Ca.
I'm sure they have an equivalent tool supply in your area or on the internet. These basic tools are really invaluable even to the modest collector like myself.
