Can anyone tell me how to crack a slab without harming the coin?

    Thanks!

I was just reading that previous thread & I use the bench vise same way that Schatzy suggested.SLOWLY tighten the vise & voila....
    Works like a charm.

I've used a dremmel tool with no problems , as I don't have a vise , Garrett have you thought of TNT yet , gets the job done but it's sometimes hard finding the coin . JK

I'd recommend you not listen to Rzage. ;) Have you ever seen a pic of him?

Ps: If you are really alert you would have noticed the real vinyl fake wood slatting in his house and that should also set off alarm bells. :eek:dd:

Ha! There is your famous crown royal bag.
As I am typing this I have a 1817 large cent in a medicine bottle filled with franks hot sauce and lemon juice in my left hand. It had a thick layer of PVC. The MS70 turned it blue so I had to use my primitive methods on it. :D
