..would be appreciated. Its in great condition. If this were a real indian head penny. It would grade pretty high. Full liberty, can see all the diamonds and feathers. All but the corrosion of being in the ground for years.

    Hey, Jim.

    I'll give it a shot.

    I believe it is:

    CWT #MI530G-1a

    Rarity-4 (200-499 estimated to exist)

    Reverse Die #1037

    Metal - C

    Edge - R

Price estimates from my 1997 book:

    VG - $8

    VF - $15

    EF - $25

    Unc - $50

I really hate to estimate a grade, without seeing it in-hand, but if I had to guess, I'd say that it has about extra-fine details, corroded, net about fine.

Again, that's just a guess. Nice find!

Thanks Jody. I appreciate the info, again. Seems like civil war store cards would be a good item to start collecting. They seem pretty reasonable, price wise. Thanks again, Jim

    You're welcome, Jim.

Yes, I think you can see that prices are directly related to demand. Although CWT's are usually much rarer than US coins, the demand for them is much less also.

I see CWT's sell all the time for between $10 and $20.
