Is there a way to remove "detail" coins from a search on the Heritage website? I am looking for a specific type/date coin but many of them are graded details for one reason or another. Any help would be appreciated. I tried the -details but it didn't work, there also isn't the option on the left toolbar under grades.
Toolbar ? I search Heritage all the time and I never use any toolbar. Here's the best way to search that I ever found. Sign in, that brings you to this page - http://coins.ha.com/ Once signed in, look over on the left, click on Auction Results Archives. That brings you to this page - http://coins.ha.com/c/hall-of-fame.zx?ic=Left-Archives-071107 I do things in a specific order from there because habit, doing things the same way every time helps to remove mistakes from the equation. Anyway, in the box on the left bottom where you see Titles click on the drop down arrow and select Titles And Descriptions. Next I select the type of coins I want to search. In the box on the right you will see All Rare Coins. Click on the drop down arrow and select the type of coins you want to search. If it's Morgans scroll down and select Morgan Dollars - or whatever. Last thing to fill out is the left top box where it says Search Keyword/Lot No. Place your cursor in the box, clcik and then type in what you want to find. If you are looking for an 1881-S in MS65 then type this - 1881-S MS65. Then hit your enter key. That will bring up a page with all 1881-S MS65 Morgans they have sold. Then just scroll through the pages. Or if you want to find only 1881-S MS65, but only those graded by PCGS then type - 1881-S PCGS MS65. And type it just that way. And it will bring up only those slabbed by PCGS. Or you can do it for NGC, or whatever. It's pretty simple really. Searching that way will however bring up coins that you did not want to see. That's because every now and then one of your search terms is contained someplace in the description found on that page. You can avoid that by selecting Titles instead of Titles and Descriptions. But if you do, then you will some coins that you would have found otherwise - all of those where your search terms are not all in the title. So I find it better to do it my way.
