I am in the process of purchasing a 1884s morgan silver dollar, the coin has been graded at MS 64 by a company named PCS? is this a valid grading company? I've never heard of them. the asking price is $1000.00 opening bid. I looked the coin up and its valued at $25000.00 so i put in my bid and won. I'm new to this and dont know what to do. Any info would be appreciated about PCS. Thank You

Unless there's a G in there, as in PCGS, I don't think I'd want to buy that coin if I were you.

Also, have a look at Reid's review on the grading services.

He's done a fine job of outlining what services are out there for grading. I really respect his writings.

That's a lot of money to plunk down on a shady thing.

Hold out for a decent example graded by PCGS, ANACS, or NGC anything else is much more risky in my opinion. When you spend that kind of money on a coin, make sure you get what you pay for! ~ Jim
