help with this 1961 nickel. (DDO)?

    Hi, Im new to nickels , but i heard that you really need to look close at nickels to be sure if its an error or not. so I decided to let the people that know about them to make the call on this one for me. thanks for your help--BILL there are a few pictures and i can only put up one at a time so they can zoom ,there will be 4 total

    Looks like the results of a deteriorated die. I don't see any splits, do you? Notice the splits here on this 1962 reverse.

    look to the left side of (LIBERTY, and the 1961). do you still not see anything at all? I see something. Is it (MD) ? Just so I dont think Im nuts-- do you see it??? thanks again--BILL

    Nickels are tough because DDD is so prevalent. As Rockdude inquired above, clear split serifs are essential in the diagnosis of DDs on Jeffersons. Good luck!
