    Jody,it looks like a mounted Mogul coin.It could also be one from Afghanistan or Persia (Iran) as well.I can't read Arabic,however,apart from the numerals.

    Yes, it's a piece of jewelry.
    I'm hoping someone can identify the country/state of origin, and hopefully the denomination.
    Also verify authenticity.

    Someone has suggested that it is a Persian coin, from the Fath Ali Shah (1797-1834) era.
    Can anyone confirm, or rupute that?

    I would agree that it is Persian from the Qajar Dynasty AR One Qeran

    I think it is either Naser Al Din Shah could beFath Ali Shah...

    Could be wrong :)

    Actually those fish have me interested more than the coins. In the book "Finger Prints of the Gods" Graham Hancock talks about the Assyrians and their worship of a Fish Garbed god Oannes. The stylized fish look to be the very same...
