Has anyone seen these new Amero coins?

I do not know if the coins will be of this exact design but it sounds like we may have another form of coinage circulating in America soon. Is this real or bunk?

It has a "D" mintmark. I wonder if it was made at the Denver mint.

These are widely available now. It is a fantasy design of his.

The coin you posted is a silver round. The concept of the Amero, however, is a real one that has been discussed as a regional currency similar to the Euro in Europe. Whether it will come about in the future remains to be seen. I would bet that to date, there are no Ameros in circulation anywhere.
