Tough but I went with 66RD

I have to go with 65. Those hits on the jacket just seem too deep and noticeable.

 

Are you sure you aren't just seeing part of the design?

 

I can't see no hits on his jacket , the 2 lines are part of the design .

They are part of the design, aren't they. I've never noticed them before... Grrrr...

 

They're not always struck uo so nice , so if you didn't know they belonged they might look like hits in some pics . But most hits have a shine to them .

I voted 67RD. Hard to tell, but from this picture I don't think the chatter on the forehead is enough to bring it down to 66RD.

 

In hand, I cannot see a single nick. Strike and luster are definitely there. I can just make out those spots (on the reverse only). I am going to guess that they are left over from the planchet. Don't know why, but they just look like they are in the coin rather than on the coin. Regardless, they are far from a major distraction.. NGC gave it a 67 and I agree.
