This coin is spectacular in hand. I would rank it top 5 in luster that I have ever seen on a war nickel. It deserves a star, or a plus, or both. My problem with the * designation is the inconsistency. Compare this coin to my 1944-D, which has both a + & star. To me, there is no comparison, the 45-D is far and away the more impressive coin.
The 67 was a no- brainer for me, as it had the lustrous “high gem” appearance to me. I find it unbelievable that it did not get the * for both color, and high eye appeal. If you get tired of it, just let me know, and it would have a new home.
I didn't submit this, it is an an older holder where the info was centered. I purchased it recently off Great Collections which had a really nice photo, but no photo can do this coin justice. It is just mesmerizingly beautiful in hand. The problem is that the damn graders at NGC see the coin in hand, and still don't give out the + or star. This coin is going back to NGC for regrade, I want by star designation.
