Looks like a high VF to a low EF. I'll call it VF-30. Just a suggestion - when you take a photo of a coin try to shoot directly into the coin rather than at an angle. When the coin is at an angle the center of the coin may be in focus but the near and far edges may be out of focus (like in your pics above).
Thanks for the advice, but I don't have a macro setting on my camera so I just use a loupe and I can't let in light to the coin without the picture getting a little distorted.
I am not great at grading them either, but the first I would say VF-35 or XF-40. The second looks AU50 to me. Just my opinion.
I think your right on either a high F-15 , But I'd lean to a VF-20 . I really like the type 1 . rzage
