I like the idea! We get people in our shop. They want to sell us their gold for more than gold. So we don't have any to sell.

Oh there's some other interesting articles on that page.

I think the key word here is "franchise".

Mr. Geissler's company will make money from the "franchisees" who think they will sell enough gold to pay the franchiser for all of the costs involved in buying the franchise.

As in many "hot ideas" there's few details. Can you imagine for example, how expensive a theft deterrent vending machine would be? Note that the vending machine mentioned is a "prototype" which is like saying "I've got a model airplane, we think it will fly."

I think Mr. Geissler is simply floating an idea. If he gets enough committed capital, he'll go to the next step. If not, you'll never hear of this idea again.

Yes, this is supposed to be a franchise based system. Then again, more than a month ago, when Geissler set up such a "gold machine" in downtown Frankfurt, he also said that these machines are not primarily for bullion investors. They serve two purposes: First, travelers can buy a small chunk of gold, as a souvenir maybe. And of course they are a great way to advertise his business and website ...
