gold open at $587.30 today. hit a low or $585.40. if you sell your 3 pc set 20th ann. gold set right now. it is only worth $1,800 plus?. i think it will go down to around$550.00.

don't worry there is plenty of room left for gold to fall.

DO read the site http://www.kitco.com to really understand what is going on with the current market trends. Making speculations itself is a major mistake.

At the time of this post Gold is at about 586 (down about 4 percent) How come you don't mention how far down silver is? Down over 7 percent at 11.25. You want to talk about melt value so much about coins let's do some comparisons shall we?

3 piece gold set sold for $2610. 3 ounces of gold melts for about $1758 so you are paying a premium of $852 to buy the 3 piece gold set or about a 48 percent premium right now over melt.

3 piece silver set sells for 100 and not even sold out yet. 3 ounces of silver melts for about $33.75 right now so you are paying a premium of $66.25 to buy the 3 piece silver set or about a 196 percent premium over melt.

Silver aint looking to good if you want to do the numbers by melt value. You are are like a stock board pumper when it comes to coins you buy. You have no clue on things called nusmatic value.

Remember. If you want to base this purchase of what is the better buy the AGE 3 piece set or the ASE 3 piece set strictly on melt value Gold blows it away.

note: in order for gold proof to jump up. mintage should be around 2,500 - 4,000. but the unc version will be a different story. 29,990 mintage is quite low. maybe a winner for gold unc coin. that is also applied to silver eagle. 06 w unc is a winner too. period. and the silver unc will be 10 x as high as gold unc. check the 95 w gold and silver 10th anniversary.

am eagle proof pricing ranging from $30.00 (common date) to $6,000.00 (1995w). my guess is that the 2006 unc silver am eagle will take charge while that of 2006 silver proof am eagle will not.

This is a correction. That's all. Historically, commodity boom periods last for at least 14 years at a time. This is just a small correction for Gold and Oil.

Since the 20th Ann. Sets don't trade at bullion values, they won't be affected. The mindset (The sky is falling!! AAAA- Gold has dropped two dollars- headed toward $400 again-) of some/many people may temporarily contribute to lower secondary market prices, but not in the long run.

    the truth is...

to tell everyone the truth. the gold set intially result from ebay is too high. it will gradually come down to near bullion value. and the buffalo gold too. while the silver set will be stay low at the beginning. but will gradually go up and up and nothing but up. after few years. the gain will be hugh. ex: the 1995w american eagle silver dollar. it took ten years to see that big increased.

the truth is you are clueless

The 3 coin gold set has a mintage of only 10,000 and sells out in less than 24 hours and will be selling for only bullion value soon?

The 2 coin silver set has a mintage of 250,000 and still hasn't sold out and doesn't look that close to even selling out.

Tell me you are kidding. I bought 5 of the silver sets myself so not trying to take anything from the silver sets but the real winners will be the low mintage gold coins. And no I couldn't afford the gold set myself.

I showed you why just on bullion value and I am telling you why on a supply/demand scarcity value. Now keep hoarding those nickels! :headbang:

This is all so funny....I haven't been to the forum in a few months and last I saw...all the prognosticators were "how high will it go? silver $60? gold $1000?" And now a few months later is a game of Limbo...TOO FUNNY!

Me, I did well...in a small way...found $15 in 1964's while searching Kennedy Halfs and sold them for $105 when silver was at $15.

In bullion value, in collecting value that number can be doubled. I've already seen someone on Ebay preselling their set for $3,400.
