Just a tidbit that I am curious about and need some help.

2006 silver proof set with 2 South Dakota
quarters and no North Dakota quarter. Realizing this
is a packaging error and not a strike error, what
road would we take to ascertain a value for this set.
hope to have a hi res scan this week. This set will be for sale
    shortly.

i would think that would be more vauleable than a regular silver proof set

The set would have no value over and above a regular set. If anything, it might sell for less because it is missing a coin.

It is not missing a coin, it has 2 D mint south dakotas instead of a p and d

I would think it would be worth less than a set that had every coin that it was supposed to have.

Is it packaged in such a way that it can be definitely identified as having been assembled with one wrong coin?

Unless you can prove that it was done by the mint, chances are that it's worth less.

This has been written up a number of times in Coin World and Numismatic News, the consensus is that, since it is 'easy' to replace a coin there is no added value.
However, on eBay, it may be worth millions.

I'm not sure but shouldn't it be the S Mint Mark all proof sets I have from 2006 are San Fran

Yup, apparently they are talking about the mint set.

I understand, the P mint quarter is the one I am saying is missing.
