I stop by the bank and picked up 8 rolls of nickels an to my surprise two of the rolls were all pre 1960's and a thrid roll were all 1961 P's AU to MS grade, but one 1955 D caught my eye because of the doubling in some of the letters in the words UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and in the MON in Monticello. This doubling is very distinced in the N I T in united, both T's and in the A in states, both A's M R I in america. They all have double ridge lines and bold lettering. The problem that I have is that I can not find any mention of this type of doubling for a 1955 D in any books that I have, only the double mint mark. Has anyone seen or heard of this type of doubling in a 55 D and if so where? I try to post a pic but I do not have a camera that will pick up
the detail needed to see the doubling well, but this is the best I can do. Any help will be appreciated.
