Hello everyone, This is a Mint Error I posted back in April 2014 1959 1 Cent struck on Split Planchet Next Thursday I will show an example of Split Planchet after the strike.
Thanks for sharing again. I enjoy seeing your "errors of the mints ways". ps. On a side note, I can't remember where you detect but I was in NY last week at DUMBO thinking of you out in a park somewhere metal detecting. Wish I had my detector with me.
Cool.. I detect many parks in Brooklyn such as Fort Greene, Prospect and Mccarren. They are near DUMBO.. I've done well in the Brooklyn Parks.. I'm heading to Owls Head Park this Saturday.
Last morning there I took my breakfast to Stuevesent Park and was "shaken down" by a black squirrel. LOL If you're ever in SE Florida looking to detect, look me up and send an email or pm. Just can't get enough of detecting.
Ed, I know you are an error aficionado as much as you are a metal detecting aficionado.... Have the stars ever come together for you and allowed you to find an error coin while detecting?
Hope he has and would love to hear about it/them. While waiting for Paddyman98's response I'll chime in and say I found a somewhat minor one about two months ago. It was a 1997(?)P that was a nice dual misalignment of both dies. (It wasn't off-center because the obverse and reverse were not opposite each other.) https://www.error-ref.com/dual-misalignment-of-both-dies/
