This coin belongs to someone else.
I'm asking for opinions so that I may relay them to the owner, who says that the coin belonged to his Dad, who found it in change.
Both designs are incused and reversed.

Looks to me like someone created a blank, perhaps on a railroad track, and then put it between two coins and used a big hammer, at least twice. :p

    Thanks, Roy.
That's pretty much my conclusion, as well.
Of course, that's not the answer the owner is looking for. LOL
To him, it's a rare and valuable object.

Here is the question....are the letters and numbers and such endented on the coin or are they like normal??...if they are like normal I would wonder if it might be something good....but if its endented...fake.

Yes, Speedy, all designs and legends are incuse (endented).
If it were that way on only one side, with a strongly struck, but otherwise normal opposite side, I might be inclined to believe it was a brockage.

With all the canadian pennies I get in change, I have to say that only us coin collectors would notice the difference and raise questions....particularly over $0.01 ;)
