In 2020 @Oldhoopster bought a few books from the Shelby County Coin Club. His donation was more than enough to become a member of our 60 year old club in west central Ohio and he agreed to join. The dues for 2021 are $5.00. The member gets 6 entry tickets for the Coin Show Raffle drawing included in the $5.00. He lives in New York State. His name was drawn today for a 2021 Silver Eagle. I will be getting it out to him this week. Congratulations Oldhoopster! IMG_2009.JPG IMG_2010.JPG

    Thank you very much.

Last year @SchwaVB57 offered some numismatic books on BST to support the Shelby County CC. The price was very reasonable so when I sent payment, I made sure I added plenty for shipping and requested that any extra be donated to the club. @SchwaVB57 extended the offer to use some of that donation for club membership

I've been a member of local clubs for the better part of 40 years (although there are no local clubs were I currently reside). When I was in HS, there were some great members who encouraged me and helped me learn about numismatics. That's why I try to support local clubs whenever possible.

I strongly recommend CT members join any local clubs in their area. Show up to meetings, donate extra items to the YN raffles, do a presentation and share you're knowledge (trust me, no matter how new you are, you'll earn a lot of respect from club members by doing a presentation). It's a great way to give something back to the hobby

I've been wanting to join a local club since last year, but with Covid-19, they haven't been meeting at all. Hopefully in June.

I agree with @Oldhoopster about the Local Club being very valuable for what the member wants to get from the knowledge within the club.
If there are not any local clubs in your area, the Cincinnati Coin club has virtual meetings with members from all over the country. It has a long tradition of being a very good coin club.
