Hey all - I have a friend that I work with who has a Confederate $5 bill. I would grade its condition as VF-EF, as it has no crease marks, but is worn a bit around the edges and slightly faded. I promised her that I'd do a bit of research into the note, it's history, and get an estimated value for her. Does anybody have any info that could help me out?

    Thanks in advance

i don't have a catalog for values, but here's something you can do.

first, make sure it isn't a reproduction by checking here.

then, find a picture of the note for identification here.

once you have the t-number, find a similar note for sale here.

not really exact, but you'll have a ballpark figure at least.
