    Welcome to CoinTalk, Lloyd.

I have NEVER seen a good deal for coins on an infomercial. The coins are typically overhyped and grossly overpriced. How do you think they pay for all that air time? (By overpricing their coins. That's how.)

I think coin country has the normal 100% TV mark-up from retail. Entertaining to watch, just don't buy.

Over price on over rated coins. Funny to watch some times.

I watch Coin Country sometimes, especially when I am recording another show and killing some time until the recording if further enough along I can start watching this recording and skip all the commercials. Very much overpriced. kind of funny at times.

Saw old chambers last night I think. He is on that Shop NBC show occasionally. Think it is call Coin Shoppe. He was selling a bunch of junk including the Obama mutilated Inaugural coin

Used to get a kick out of the guy who wore the crazy hats all the time but I haven't seen that program since I got rid of the "dish" and went cable....never would buy from them.

don't tell anybody... :headbang: I did but returned the items quickly! Your local coin store and most online dealers are better. For that matter, you can also do better on ebay.

by the way... it is funny in a strange kinda way.

I saw him the other night wearing big purple rubber gloves. It looked pretty funny. I only watch those shows a few minutes here and there, and only to get to look at coins.

I love watching these shows for a minute or two at a time. They always make me feel good about what I paid for some of my coins. LOL

Just remember that anything you see advertised on TV has to be overpriced. This is only normal. TV time is extreamely expensive and anyone selling anything on TV must make a fantastic profit to pay for that. Coins, vacuum cleaners, cars, etc must have that add time tacked on to the selling prices. They are not necessarily liars or crooks, just trying to pay for the adds and still make a profit. So TV add items are almost always overpriced.

    Actually

Actually the prices on Coin Country are often times not that much higher than what you would be able to get for wholesale. As you can tell it looks like they produce the show in someone's garage at times. Lol. But they don't need to mark their product up as much as the bigger guys - it just isnt as expensive to produce their show. Compare the prices.

First of all, did Coin Country and Coin Vault combine into one show? At least coin country would show a variety of coins, rather than the just Morgans and the new stuff from the Mint.

Second, if you watch coin country and look at prices, they are usually 33 to 50 percent above the retail price. We are talking retail, not wholesale.
