I picked up some quarter rolls from the bank yesterday trying to find the new missions West Point quarter. They were almost all uncirculated Minnesota parks quarters from last year but in the middle of one of the rolls were these beauties, an Oklahoma 2008 State Quarter and a 1984-D that look almost brand new! Do you guys think either would be worth getting stabbed or is there too much pmd?
None are worth grading IMO. Also, there is a CRH sub forum. https://www.cointalk.com/forums/coin-roll-hunting/
@MCPark82 They would have to grade at least MS68 to make it worthwhile. Do you really think they would? Chris
I could see how the Oklahoma probably wouldn’t ... it had more dings on the face than I realized until after I touched up the photos. But the 1984 looks pretty great to me especially considering the age. Too bad it’s not an 83 in similar condition
If money were no object I would have many modern quarters graded by a variety services, then would crack them out and cross resubmit. It would be fun and a learning experience. Some clad quarters are just beautiful and interesting to me.
There is no way in Hades that the '84 would grade high. At best, it would be MS65 on a good day. Chris
Very nice but not worth the cost of grading. Someone probably hoarded rolls and then needed the money and spent them. Obviously they haven't been in circulation long. Nice find.
