While searching rolls of half dollars there was a 1966 fifty cent coin from the Bahama Islands.
In trying to find out more about the composition I saw an ebay auction for the 1966 Bahama mint set claiming it is .800 silver.
My question is about regular strike common 1966 fifty cent coins. Are they .800 silver?

Victor, the 50c. coins from the Bahamas between 1966 & 1970 are all .800 fine silver. You'd be a mug to turn it down.

Say what? A mug to turn it down? I have the coin. Found searching rolls. It cost me fifty cents.
    Thanks for the info.

That's good to hear that you've got the coin.It is certainly worth more than 50c..I reckon it would be worth at least US$5.
