An Australian 2 dollar note with a glaring print error...

This image was submitted to my website with a question of authenticity. The note came out of an Australiean ATM machine. It was suggested to its owner (by a coin dealer) that perhaps the black ink on this note was bleached out. In my (humble and unprofessional) opinion, this is not the case, as the serial number is in tact and the reverse of the note is perfectly printed. The aforementioned dealer apparently offered to take the note to a "friend" for a second opinion... the note's owner, thankfully thought better of it and decided to look for help elsewhere. Unfortunately, he found in me someone who knows little more than he does about paper money. I'd love to be able to get back to him with SOME sort of answer though. :) Any input would be appreciated! :) Thanks! -Riot

For anyone who may be unfamiliar with Australian money, this is what it is supposed to look like... :)
