what does everyone think the acceptable premiums are for a rolls of 09 SAE's per oz. I know this opinion may vary greatly depending upon location or method of purchase, but I am looking for a general consensus. thanks in advance
You can find them averaging around $2 over spot I've seen $1.99 over at Apmex, $1.90 at Bulliondirect to name a few.
bg, Are you talking a roll or rolls. I don't think you are going to get 1 roll @ the prices quoted by grbose. The prices he's quoting are when buying 25+ rolls (Monster green boxes) For example: *At Ampex today* Silver Spot Market Price = 14.71 $17.75 each ($3.04 over spot) Buy 20 - 99 for $17.25 Each (1-4 rolls @$345ea) ($2.54 over spot) Buy 100 - 499 for $16.95 Each ( 5-19 rolls @ $339/ea) ($2.24 over spot) Also shipping has to to be added to these prices !!
You'd be incorrect I just bought 1 roll last week from Bullion Direct and paid $354.20 with shipping. $338.00 for the roll and $16.20 Shipping/Insurance and handling.
You are right on their pricing for the 2009's if you buy them, 2009's specifically. However if you buy the date and mm of their choice they are 1.89 over spot at 20. It has been my experience that you will still get 2009's. In fact I have bought several in lots of 20 and have gotten nothing buy 2009's since I have been buying from them the last few months.
thanks everyone for the replies. It looks to me as if 1.89 to 1.99 above is about average right now for anything from 20-99 rolls. The thing is though once you add in average shipping like 12.95 at ampex you are at 2.60 to 2.75 per oz above. It looks to me like anything around 2.00 to 2.25 per oz is considered good. Thoughts?
I do have a little tidbit for you and it might help you out. Those ASE's at Apmex are live and fluctuate with the current live market. So far today the market has dropped 7 cents last I looked. If you check it later it might even drop into the 14.50's, I don't know that it will, but it could. If you buy when it drops to that, that is what you pay based on. So if it drops to 14.50 at 9.57pm and you buy then, you then pay the 14.50 + 1.89 for the 20 pcs. It is a bit of a game, and paying attention with a little luck can pay off. On July 31 late at night I had good timing and paid 15.19 each, I should be close and do not have invoice here. Just make sure when you put them in your cart you check the price before your final checkout.
