I have posted coins that members have opinioned that they may have been altered with acid.

In Particular I have a dime that is very thin, the images an both sides are weak but consistant. the dept of the coin is uniform and consistant, the reeding seems sharp ( not cutting but detailed) indicating to me that the circumference is consistant.

Does any one have images of a coin or coins that have had their outer layers chemically removed.

or can you describe what such a coin would look like?

What are the visual signs that a coin has been altered with acid?

Thanks for your help... obviously I need the education.

There are plenty of them right here on Coin Talk. Just do a search using the word acid - you'll find them. And you'll also find they look just like your coin.
