Holy crap Barry! Are these the last few days coming up for sale? I'd love to see some of these sell. Thats some seriously nice material. That Larissa is really nice for the type.
The Sicilians are absolute show stoppers...but I gotta say, seeing a golden Panticapaeum puts a smile on my face. Just amazing. Very appreciated, this brightened up my day
The surfaces on the Berenike look far nicer than when it sold in NGSA 5, lot 151. Hopefully that wasn't too deep of a cleaning to damage the coin. The trihemistater's lack of die rust is remarkable; a beautiful coin!
i'd like to have one of does Indo-Greek coins where the Corinthian helmet became an early Brit jungle hat/helmet
Barry, Thanks for posting all this "eye candy"; few of us get to handle gems like these. Do most of the people submitting these coins get them slabbed or do they go for the photo certificates ?
I want Barry's job. I couldn't actually do it. I would just like to sit there and drool. They wouldn't even have to pay me.
..here's your chance to get some free help @Barry Murphy ...of course there would be a long line of others here too
Wow, what is the size of that pentakaidekadrachm?! That is huge! Don't think I've ever seen one of those before, what an incredible coin. Thanks so much for sharing all of these, I've loved all your posts this week.
Do you ever get minor silver to grade? I have seen more Syracuse tets and larger in your posts here than I have seen half Litra and under total. What is the smallest silver coin you have slabbed? I assume the smallest would have been gold or electrum since so many of those have made the market lately. The posts here from 'job seekers' do make me wonder who will replace Dave and Barry when they decide to retire. I have a rough idea what they did to become qualified to hold this job. I wonder how many twenty-forty year olds are on the correct path to unseat them or will their replacements be Artificial Intelligence programs? Add that one to the 'impossible' things that have happened in your lifetime.
Yes we get smaller coins Doug, they just don't make as nice of a photo. I'm literally laying these out on my desk for 2 minutes and shooting them with my phone. Bigger coins are easier to shoot. I've done nearly 2000 coins this week, and posted maybe 30 here. Barry
Sadly. my reply was tongue in cheek. Now retired, the price of flights from the UK, quarantine etc probably makes my "application" null and void. We can but dream!
