Ideas on value? It is up for auction and I will bid it up, my drawback is the 2 dings at 6 o'clock on the reverse. I don't know how much that hurts the value.
I think it's real , though I'm not sure if those 2 marks would detail her or not . There's a lot of nice '78 CC Morgans out there .
Wear on the obverse is a turnoff /hair/bag marked cheek and the reverse too the eagle's breast feathers are really worn too pass on this one.
The coin is struck badly misaligned. The denticles run completely off the rim at the bottom on the reverse. It makes me suspicious since there is so much wear but those denticles on the reverse rim aren't worn near as much as the obverse rim.
Good idea. Unless you like taking chances those pictures aren't anything to bid on. I know I'd never try to sell a coin on pictures like that.
I paid $90 for a 78cc at a show a couple months ago in XF/45 (graded by dealer, a fair XF grade in my opinion).
Looks pretty cleaned, the wear on the eagle's breast, as well as the terrible photo to hide it makes me think that.
