2025 COINTALK FRIENDS (CTF) GIVEAWAYS (Master Thread & Summary)

Please read this introduction to familiarize yourself.

Don't worry- once these contests settle into a pattern, you'll get accustomed to the rhythm of them.

Hello, everyone! We hope to start a new tradition of monthly (in fact, weekly) random-drawing giveaways here on the Contests forum.

There should be twelve CTF contests throughout the year, with a new contest roughly every month or so. Within each of those twelve contests there will be four random drawings with a new coin prize every week.

As per usual CoinTalk rules, all of these contests will be totally free to enter, with zero monetary cost to the contestants.

So that adds up to 48 drawings. (I know there are 52 weeks in a year, but those extra four weeks will give us some room for the occasional intermission or change of schedule.)

Each of every contest's four weekly rounds will consist of a prize offered by a different donor. I will be your coordinator. I'm really looking forward to it, and hope everything will run smoothly and everyone will have a lot of fun.

Scroll down this thread to see the status of the contests, and to find the one that’s open.

Would you like to volunteer as a prize donor ? See Post #2 below.

PS- let me acknowledge @Kasia for using her AI wizardry to help create all the awesome banner images.

    Numismatic regards,

    ~Robertson ("Rob") Shinnick ("lordmarcovan")

    (and all our generous donors)

    DONOR RESPONSIBILITIES

Please read carefully if you wish to become a donor.

If not, you may skip this post. Thank you.

Would you like to donate a prize? Excellent! Good for you! But first...

To be a donor, you must be able and willing to do the following:

    1) Offer an appealing $25-50-ish USD coin-related prize for your round in the contest. That’s a suggested price range. If you’re the generous sort and want to give away something more valuable than that, then great- but that’s entirely up to you.

    2) Private-message or email me clear photo(s) and a short description of the prize you’re offering, preferably at least two weeks in advance of the next contest that has open donor slots. Don’t post your prize on the public forums! We don’t want any spoilers.

    3) Be willing and able to ship your prize directly to the person who wins it, fully at your expense. Per the CoinTalk Contest Forum rules: the winner of a contest is not to pay for anything. ("Not one red cent!", in Doug's words.) As the donor, you agree to furnish the prize and pay for all associated shipping costs, etc. You will not be held responsible if an item is lost in the mail, but do please use common sense when packaging your outgoing prize for shipment. And please try to ship in a timely manner.

    4) Please state in advance whether or not you are willing to ship your prize worldwide. Shipping outside of your own country does involve more work and expense, but think of our international members and try to include them if you can.

    5) Please post a notice in the contest thread when you have shipped the item, after you have mailed it to your winner. They will also be asked to post a notice of receipt in the contest thread, so we can keep track of what's shipped and who’s gotten their prizes.

    6) In the event we should ever have a donor drop out or disappear, I will step in as the donor for that round.

    7) If you would like to underwrite a round, but prefer to be an anonymous donor- or do not wish to go through the logistics mentioned above- just contact me.

    Thanks in advance!

That's all I can think of right now. Since this is a new thing as I type this, I expect we may need to edit some of these terms as time goes on. But hopefully not too much.

Now... see below for the summary of all the contests, and scroll down to the one that’s open.

    :)
