Has anyone else posted this? I would think so but if not here it is. http://www.pcgs.com/articles/articl...e&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=ezine02162010 What do you think? I think someone has some 'splaining to do.
The mint typically starts striking the coming years coins late in the year. Sometimes a few of these coins will accidentally slip out in bags of the current years coins. Two cases that I can recall of the top of my head was a 2000 Sac dollar in a bag of 1999 quarters, and one case years back where someone ordered a proof set late in the year and received the coming years proof set instead. So it happens. We also know there were many cases of baks releasing state quarters, and President dollars a coupe weeks before the release dates. I believe some 1979 SBA dollars turned up at a coin show a month before they were released.
I think this new reverse is really, really dumb anyway so makes little difference when released. All our coins are just getting to simple. No wonder so many people stick to older or foreign coins.
Not really news. Most collectors must have cent burn out by now and don't really care. I mean ..it's just a cent after all.
