As many of you may already know early next year the mint will introduce a 2009 Ultra High Relief St. Gaudens that will be smaller and 50% thicker to duplicate the original 1907 design. This coin will be introduced the 30th of July in Baltimore, MD. Since legislation was introduced many amendments have been attached such as selling both proof and Unc and even talk of a Palladium High Relief to be sold as a set. Does anyone know the final legislation and what it calls for such as proof and/or Unc? Is Palladium still a required set option? http://www.usmint.gov/pressroom/index.cfm?flash=yes&action=press_release&ID=914
I believe it was stated that for the first year either palladium or gold will be used, not both only one will be allowed.
They are only going to offer it in either the proof or bullion (UNC) - I can't remember which but I remember reading that some where. I'm having a really bad CRS day today. :goof:
I have read that the 2009 version will be 24 karat gold and (if signed into law) future years would be issued in palladium.
I'm with ya. The press release did mention gold. It did not mention uncirc only. Hopefully, they will offer a proof. We'll see. Either way, I'm in. This is gonna be a piece of WORK. :thumb:
Hmm, from my understanding the comment that something is "a piece of work" is a negative comment. By the way, did you get my PM with the information about CopperQuotes?
On rare occasions, I swim against the flow ! heh Yes, I did. Thanks ! I called the dude and haven't heard back. I'll follow up.
