2008 D Alaska quarter curiosity

    It probably has to deal with what it came into contact with. I wouldn't think too hard on it; the coin has been pretty circulated. Keep looking!

    Yeah, there is no telling what that coin has come into contact with in the past 8 years. For all you know, it started turning pink once it was removed from a septic tank.

    By the way, were you wearing gloves when you were handling it?
