I just received an email from the US Mint and the email reads that they have shipped the uncirculated mint sets, but there was no price listed on the email. Anyone else get an email from them? Below is what was contained in the email: Date Shipped: 5/17/04 Amount Charged : .00 Items included in this shipment: 1. UNCIRCULATED COIN SET SUB. - QTY 2 (MW2) Qty : 1 Thanks, Jim
This is a pretty standard Mint email. And they wonder why collectors believe their customer service leaves a lot to be desired.
I recently bought a Mint-sealed 2004 Unc. Mint set off eBay. After opening the box, I found that the Wisconsin quarter has a very distinct fingerprint on it. The fingerprint is on the quarter inside the sealed package. You would think the Mint's employees would try to be a bit more careful. But, with the tremendous amount of State Quarters they're sending out, I guess it's impossible not to make mistakes like this. I guess I can look at the glass as "half full"; how many other Wisconsin quarters out there have a unique Mint employee's fingerprint? Scott
Well, I got mine still sealed and it didn't have a COA so I called and they said they weren't adding them with the sets this time. Speedy
Really? Well, I guess I'm lucky that mine had a COA. Did any of your coins have a fingerprint? Tell you what, I'll trade you my COA for your non-fingerprint coin? j/k
Well....I'll call the mint again and see if they still have some from last year...I might be able to find one from some of my buddies. Speedy PS nope--no fingerprints
