I've long had interest in 19th century proof coinage but for a long time they were out of my budget. I saw this coin (my profile picture) at a good price on instagram a few months ago and barely claimed it by just a couple of seconds. The post didn't even last 5 minutes. I paid $600. PCGS has PR62 examples on the price guide at $850. Even better is the toning, especially on the reverse. Blue and purple are pretty popular colors, and they really pop in good lighting. Unfortunately, the obverse appears to be that of a 'slider', but even still, I am happy. 1891 was the last year of the Seated Liberty coinage, and the proof quarter above is one of 600 minted, which is pretty low for the type. Factor in the eye appeal, and I think I had a big win Please share your 19th century proof coins here!
