So I’ve never really examined my 99s for anything beyond WAM, but today I was checking them out and found some interesting stuff. This was probably the coolest thing I’ve found so far, so judging on how you guys feel about this one I may or may not post others. Anyhow, can’t find this on variety vista or anything so check it out: on the second roof layer above column #9... what IS that?? The coin is so clean I don’t think it’s PMD, but maybe someone here knows for sure... thanks in advance!

I vote PMD. Looks like it took a hit.

It looks like damage to me. You can see how the metal was moved down from whatever hit it.

Because it is not a variety..
It is either a small die break (chip) or plating issue.
    Or even post mint damage.

It took a hit. You can see the sharp metal edges where the metal was moved downwards.

    PMD.
Something scraped it or nicked it.
