Hello gang, I came across this coin in my collection last night. After further examination it appears that the rim narrows just above the word STATES. I was wondering what type of error this is (if it's an error at all) and what would be the approximate value on this type of coin? Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I see no error at all, I have some coins that are half destroyed by the top, its just slight off centering. Yours may be slightly off center, but I dont see it.

An off-center strike would show on both sides.
If anything, it appears to be a slightly misaligned die. No real premium here unfortunately.
    Keep up the hunt!

true. The cent that I have shows on both sides, and half the lettering is cut off, but its not so darastic and is not worth a premium.
