    Hi everyone,

I've switched banks (long story) and my new credit union has a coinstar machine I can use for free, so I've been doing a bit of roll searching lately.

Found this '86 Lincoln cent with a large divot (for lack of a better word) where the mint mark would be, and a few other smaller ones in other areas. Not sure if the blank was deformed before it was struck or someone ground it down or otherwise abused it afterwards.

Apologies for the poor photo, but I'm mainly interested in hearing if it's common to find coins like this (modified or not), and assuming it came from the mint like this, if it would be worthwhile taking to the local dealer or posting on ebay.

    Thanks!

Post Mint Damage. Looks like some shot it with a Crossman pellet rifle.
