1984 d rpm?

    Is that a bit of corrsion to the right of the mintmark?

    This common zinc corrosion, not a RPM. Sorry, keep looking.

    I see corrosion but it still looks like a Rpm south east . I don't think it 's a plating problen but i;m not that famlier with it. I have to say the second images looks pretty good to me , but lets see what the others have to say.

    The corrosion builds up under the surface of the top layer. It will give the effect of an extra letter being there, but it is not present. If he was to take more pics of the area at different angles, then I suspect he would see this. It would probably flake off at the opening.     Hi,

    It is indeed a "spot o' rot" It is really more circular than like a letter D.

    The unfortunate thing is that a circle looks like the right side of a D.

    There is rot at the center of the opening of the anomaly you are pointing out.
