I was checking some 1960 pennies for LG/SM when I came upon this one. Kinda looks like an error. It's the top of the tail in the close ups. First is just the penny, second plus third is the tail of the 6, and finally is the tail tracing of the shape that I think could be an error. Thanks for your input.

It looks like what could be a worn die chip.

Would it be worth any more that face value?

    Not much

Not much - if one studies the cents from 1959 through 1964 you will find that most of the mint workers were either hung over or literally drunk or high on the job. We have well over 200 different RPM's on 1960-D cents - they could not have missed up as much if they had been trying to do it on purpose!

It is either damage that moved some metal, or it is a slight die chip. It would not add any premium to the value of the coin.

    Thanks,
