Crossing the street last week i found this, nickel is it a keeper i hope so the condition is a little rough.
Technically the 48-S is a keeper. Although this one is a bit road rashed so it's pretty much a face value coin. In high grades this date has a small premium. The Jefferson nickels are very tough. Unless it's a silver war nickel or a key or semi key date there isn't much of a market for these fringe dates. I save all the 48-S 49-S 51-S 53-S etc that I find, but it's just a long term save. There's not much that can be done with them. (Unless it's a high grade.)
As stated maybe not the best condition but if you like it keep it that's what this hobby is all about. IMO Dave
