I have a 1947 nickel and I am wondering how much it is worth.

So on the tails side of the coin, it has a beaver like nickels now-a-days, and it says "5 cents" with a maple leaf on either side, with "canada" and "1947" underneath the beaver. It has a little dot beside the seven that looks like it could be a maple leaf or something like that. The nickel isn't in mint condition or anything, but it's not in horrible condition either. The outside of the rim is round but the inner edge of it has 12 angle things.
Obviously I know nothing about coins  so I would apreciate any estimate of what this coin is worth.

I'd say a dollar or less since i have a couple from the same year that are marked 2.00 retail.

Value will depend whether the mark is a dot or a maple leaf. The 1947 dot is worth over $20.00 CDN in average circulated condition. If it is a maple leaf then the estimate of $1.00 is about right.

The 1947 Maple Leaf coins were actually struck in 1948 as an emergency measure.
