1946 penny maybe. Ghost mint mark

If you can zoom close beneath the 9 and SSW of the S maybe be a D mint mark???

It's a 1946S.

 

I see what you see but it is damage and just happens to appear as a letter.

 

I do see what you are seeing and it does look a little like a D. Pretty sure it is just a hit or mark that just happens to look something like a D.
