You sir are correct a picture of a1946 nickel with a crack is exactly what I wanted to waste your time with tonight. The pictures I uploaded in the preview of post show it so I don't know why they dont in the post its self. This new picture I'm hoping you will see a double Y and 2 stars.
Sorry, I don't see any doubling on the Y and the upper "star" looks more like a die chip or damage of some kind. Call on some of our error coin experts: @Fred Weinberg; @JCro57; @paddyman98; @furryfrog02; @Paddy54; et al.
They look fine on my phone and previews before I post then crap ones.. probably the phone. Hopefully my new phone tomorrow can do better.
I see what you're talking about but I don't think it is what you think it is.I think it is just PMD, or as we say around here DEF DAM (definitely damage).
Yeah, now I see a star-shaped thing, but only some die chips or damage in the Y. Wait for someone who knows their stuff...
Lousy photos, but there are no errors on the nickel. What you see (I think) is just wear and tear and normal circulation hits and rim damage, etc. Look at the surfaces, and the lettering at the edges. All contact marks/circulation marks and damage.
