1943 copper penny discussion

Ok, I've been doing some research.

I can finally confirm that there are around 21 1943 copper pennies left. Worth approx. $10,000 each.

What are your thoughts about the penny?

Your census appears a little high.

However, your price is considerably on the low side. The 3 I found quickly went for $23,000, $32,000, and $46,000 and those were not the nice ones.

 

I'm curious as to how you confirmed how many there are.

That came from a Heritage listing, but I have also seen it in Coin World.

 

I think his census is probably pretty close (there have been about three or four new ones show up in the past few years) but as said his value is way low.

 

So out of 40 alleged struck specimens, a little over half have been found?
