    Weak "D" Type #2

Just curious. I have seen several coins listed a 1922-D "Weak D Type #2". Is there reeally such a thing? I was under the impression that Weak D's were only associated with dies #1 and #3 (#4?) since they were a result of grease filled /polished dies. However, die #2 was never punched. Ergo, die #2 never had an intermediate state or did I miss something?

I think they are trying to mislead a little. Note they say TYPE 2 not DIE 2 or die pair 2. "Type" is not a word that should be used with this issue. I suspect they are trying to imply that the 22 "p" is a "type 1", so the weak D is "type 2" Flawed logic but probably what they are doing.

Make some sense, I've always referred to them as, and heard them referred to as die pr 1,2,3 never by types.

Mine is slabbed by PCGS, and they refer to it as the "Strong Reverse".

I will bet that is a "No D" as opposed to a "Weak D".

    Yep, sure is. It's a VF-25.
    I think I'll keep it. :)
